Hocking Hills
Caves, hemlocks, and cabin weekends about an hour from Columbus — a second home here is a different kind of purchase.
Hocking Hills is the Central Ohio escape hatch: Old Man’s Cave, Ash Cave, Cedar Falls, and a landscape that does not look like a suburb. Plenty of our clients already spend weekends there. Some eventually want a cabin, a small house in the trees, or a place that can take family in October.
A second home is not a first-home purchase with extra trees. Access, well and septic, internet, floodplain, rental rules, and how the property actually lives in January all belong in the first conversation. We would rather slow the timeline than let a pretty listing photo skip those questions.
Nate Marks and the residential team can talk through whether you are buying for yourselves, for occasional guests, or with an eye toward limited rental use. The right property depends on that answer.
Read our notes on buying a second home in Hocking Hills, then call the office. We will tell you if a listing is a fit — and if it is not.
